What is a carbon management plan and do I need it?
February 13th, 2012For any commercial company be it in the private or public sector, the focus is now very much on the green agenda and carbon management. Everyone is expected to be concentrating on carbon management and everyone is expected to have a carbon management plan. That is all very well, but some companies don’t have the expertise or the knowledge or indeed the time to sift through all the bureaucracy that is also attached to the government demands and those of the European union. Not everyone is able to say that they have a carbon management plan or in deed that they know what one is. So what is a carbon management plan? A carbon management plan is about how you can implement change in order to reduce your carbon emissions. For example, you would include in your carbon management plan how you plan to reduce the emissions, by how much you plan to reduce them and by when. You might also include who is going to help you to make sure that this is done, any partnerships that you intend to forge as well as how much it is going to cost. It is not for the faint hearted and very often you will find yourself in need of expert advice, ensuring that you are compliant with green agenda and that you get the best deals going for your energy consumption. If you are large commercial organisation, I would suggest you definitely need it.
